Van Van Oil, Anointing Oil

Van Van oil is one of the most common conjure oils in Hoodoo workings. It is used in many spells to bring good luck, keep evil spirits away, to attract love, to open roads to new possibilities, and to break jinxes and curses. Van Van oil is used in Hoodoo to dress candles, feed mojo bags, and in spiritual washes and baths.

We use an old, carefully crafted recipe which contains the following:

Vervain to draw love and protection.
Lemongrass to draw love, luck and new opportunities.
Vetiver is used for dominance, to repel negative energy, and to break jinxes.
Palmarosa, which draws good fortune and is good for spiritual cleansing.
 
Here are some ways to use VanVan:
To Bring Someone Back
Take a picture of the person and turn it towards the wall.
Write the name of the person on a piece of paper three times, one above the other. Then turn the paper 90 degrees, and write the person’s name again 6 times, over the names you just wrote. Put the piece of paper in a bottle and add 7 drops of Van Van oil and Florida Water. 
 
According to the Hoodoo practitioner in Hyatt’s book, every time you shake the bottle it will disturb the person’s mind until they come back.

In a Mojo Bag for Gambling

You can create a Mojo bag, also called a gris gris, to bring you good luck at the gambling tables using Van Van oil. Take a square piece of red flannel, and in the center put a spoonful of cinnamon, a spoonful of sugar, and a pair of dice. Tie up the flannel around the ingredients, and keep it your pocket. Mojo bags must be “fed” to keep the spirit in them alive. For this mojo bag, feed it 9 drops of Van Van oil every 9 days.

As a Spiritual Cleansing Bath

Hoodoo places a lot of emphasis on spiritual cleansing, and some kind of cleansing should be performed before any other work is done. In “Charms, Spells, and Formulas”, author Ray T. Malbrough states that adding 9 drops of Van Van oil to bath water for 9 days can accomplish this.

Contains vervain, lemongrass, vetiver, palmarosa, and other ingredients in a base of fractured coconut oil.
