Extra Large 9" White Sage & Lavender Smudge Stick

This high quality, fresh California White Sage Smudge with Lavender was hand bundled, tied, and made with care.

This smudge stick measures 9in. long.

Sage smudge is known for its light woodsy herbaceous aroma, infused with natural qualities suitable for purification of body, mind and spirit. Among the many species of sage, white sage (Salvia apian) is the most famous for its spiritual benefit of cleansing negative energies which accumulate in our surroundings and the astral body.

The White Sage and Cedar is harvested fresh and then bundled up using a cotton thread. After the stick is prepared it is then hanged or put to dry for a couple of weeks. As well as being burned, White Sage is often held, worn or kept with sacred objects to ward off negative influences.

How to Use Smudge Sticks

Holding the smudge stick by the “handle” end, use a lighter to ignite the tip. Blow out any open flames so that the leaves slowly smolder. Next, wave the smudging wand around a room, person, or objects to direct the fragrant, cleansing smoke.  Catch the ashes in a heat-resistant dish. (An abalone shell is traditional, but you can use a smudge pot, incense burner, or even a regular ceramic plate, as long as you put something under it.) Smudge sticks can be extinguished in a dish of sand and re-used many times. Of course, never leave burning smudges unattended.
